Two front top teeth
3 Answers
I am hoping someone may give me some advice. My two top teeth are looking dodgy as in one of them has been repaired with a bonding type material after a splinter came off when I bit into a polo, and they both look very thin along the edge. And also they have what I can only descirbe as a crack down the middle its not a crack but a line. What options do I have about maintaining these for as long as possible. I go to the dentist every six months he hasnt said anything about them? I am so scared about them breaking. Iam late 40s.... In the future is it possible to have them crowned or capped if so, does anyone know how much this would cost. TIA

I too put off as long as possible getting one of the side front teeth repaired, it was dodgy - but the crown has been well worth it and I no longer have to worry about the tooth fracturing. Go back and ask his advice - you don't have to wait until the six months is up.
What you are describing is extremely common. Brown streaked enamel, especially vertical lines, is a common finding in teeth which have undergone a lifetime of use (chronological or accelerated through misuse). The streaks are simply stained stress cracks, which are often contained in the superficial enamel. They are not true fractures of the teeth - simply a sign of ageing. They are most unlikely to cause any issue other then aesthetically. This is most likely why your dentist has not mentioned them.
