Can't put photos onto computer

Was fine til last month, although wouldn't allow my daughter's canon to put photos on, so then I got card reader and that stopped after a few goes, now it won't allow my camera (Olympus) to put any photos on. It is Windows xp. I have tried cam2pc, picassa, and faststone. Any sugsestions, it just will not recognise the hardware.

Unsure, it may be a case of the camera hardware having problems. If the camera 'drive' isn't recognised, I'd suspect the application you use won't alter that.

Will they upload to a different PC ?

If you go to 'computer' does it see the camera as an external drive?

possibly a silly question but are you sure there is room on computer for these images?

It does not (now) recognise any camera or the card reader. I can do it from my camera to my laptop and then email to other places but cannot understand it, why woiuld it stop recognising any of them. I don't have any discs so cannot re-install anything.

Yes there is plenty of room, it's a new hard disc.

Net you might try reinstalling or updating your drivers.

Windows 7 also has a repair/best fit thing Sorry I can't remember what its called but it sorts out any glitches and alligns them with windows.

In the control panel on that list of uninstall/ repair see if you can find your sofware and see if it will reapair it.

Chances are you can install, you have to download drivers and or software from whoever makes the camera. Check their website

Did your camera(s) come with an install CD?? If so then re-install drivers / software from these
