English school holidays

Could anybody give me the dates for the English school summer holidays this year please?

They're usually different depending on which school your child attends, but my child's holidays are from Wednesday 20th July for 6 weeks.

You'll have to google the specific area, though, as the dates *do* vary.

they will vary from area to area, and also school to school. You need to google the county to get a first rough idea.

Thanks Boo, just wanted to get a rough idea. I'm in Scotland and wanted to try and get a week in England , probably Yorkshire, before all the schools there finished up . Now I can go and start looking stuff up : )

suffolk is 22nd July to 5th September for instance, but local private school finishes a week earlier.

id honestly check for the area you're going to though Buzz as I know, schools only a few miles away break up at end of June for 6 weeks.

Schools here fnish on the 24th June - the ones my children go to anyway - so that gives me about a month to work with , Good stuff!

Check out the website of the local education authority for the area you want to visit. They usually publish the school holiday dates there.

In birmingham they are only off for 5 weeks , booyah!
