'reply with history' ????

Hi all, I received an email with a questionaire in it, the instruction to take the survey said to click, 'reply with history' .What does this mean? I use OE for email, any help appreciated.

It means when you reply, just post your reply at the top of the mail and do not delete all the othetr stuff below it.

Most people when they forward joke emails on do this and it is a spammer's dream, as they can see the email addreses of all the people who have had it before.

You should always delete the history unless given a good reason not to. Is this questionnaire from a trusted source?

Some email provides (ie Lotus Notes) give the option of REPLY which then only sends YOUR message back to the originator - or REPLY WITH HISTORY which means not only does your message get sent but also a copy of the email that came to you from the originator in the first place ................ the latter is most used, and most useful, in that it allows you to read back the whole thread of an email conversation rather than just isolated replies .................... most useful in business when, if it takes someone days and days to reply to a simple questions and they than REPLY simply with "yes" instead of REPLY WITH HISTORY, you are left wondering "yes that?" as by then you may have forgotten what you asked them!!! thanks both, email was from'boots' as a reply to a question I submitted, as I have not got reply with history on OE I'll just reply 'cannot complete questionaire', thanks again

It is not a button to click on, it simply means send the full email. Do not delete anything.

Agreed with previous posts - if you dont have choice of REPLY or REPLY WITH HISTORY then the history of the email conversation with automatically be sent - and this is what they need - so go ahead and reply - it will be fine.

DO NOT do this.

EVERY email address on the mail will eventually be harvested and sent spam by the hundreds.
If you love spam .. carry on. Loads will know your email address.
