Can't down load Word document files from the net

what shall i do ? its getting really annoying. When trying to download the dialogue box appears but then an error messege appears saying: "Internet explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The site is unavaiable or cannot be found. Please try again later." Has anyone been faced with this problem when downloading a work doc' from a website ? Pdf's seem to download fine somehow.

Please help !

i'm having problems with all sites that i want to download documents from, including downloading documents sent by email

failing that, do you have a firewall or router type device, or a software firewall running?

if so, those could be blocking files with *.doc extension (word documents), due to virus risk.

I fixed the problem. I emptied the Internet Temp files - seemed like it was all clogged up.
