Wireless Routers

My wireless router burned out today so I looked on Amazon for another one but computers and all that go with them are a mystery to me so can I ask for help to explain the difference.
My ISP is Virgin media via cable, it is a broadband connection but I only want a bog standard wireless router, on looking them up the choices of cheaper ones
both seem to be Belkin but one says "Belkin G wireless router for use with cable or DSL modem only" and the other says "Belkin G wireless ADSL modem router" but what one would I need ?

You DONT need the ADSL router.

Why dont you contact Virgin to see if they supply a free one.

I recently upgraded from 20Mb to 320Mb, got a new free modem/router (Virgin superhub) AND my monthly fee went DOWN to £18.50 a month.

Contact Virgin and get them to send a replacement.

ADSL is to do with the modem for the normal phone line broadband. Looks like you have cable. Yes it's a nightmare trying to pick out the router that's suitable, so much to check. Not least of whch whether it is compatible with wireless cards you have in other boxes. I could do with a ADSL one myself; using my fixed line router/modem at the moment.

Free from Virgin is nice, but you get more choice choosing your own. Without wondering if the service supplier has added facilities to their equipment for their own benefit.
