I've had a private plate for 20 years...Currently on retention because I haven't replaced my car that was stolen and burnt out yet!
But I remember my 1st car GOB 426W (Great for a punk rocker like me)
Remember 2 of my old mans JNF 288N and HUK 191K..Amazing what sticks in your mind :-)

No, but I can remember the two registrations of my grandad's cars in the 1950's. I still have to go and look on my car for the numbers. I have only had it about 7 years!!

Can't remember them all but I do remember the first. CVO 84D An MGB roadster with chrome bumpers, wire wheels in racing green, the full monty. It's still the only motor that I religiously washed and polished every week

puternut I don't restrict my residence to the UK alone, hence the format of registrations of cars I have owned post-2001 being foreign. J512 ELG emigrated with me and became 91 MH 4573. I now spend much of my time back in the UK but it seems too difficult to re register my car and a loophole lets me retain my Irish registration. Speed cameras? Pah! Not that I condone speeding of course ;-)
