Steve Wright (Radio 2 weekdays 2-5p.m.) is driving me NUTS !!! We have had to get used to, and ignore the " Love the show " from everyone supposedly that writes in....but I have been trying to ignore the singing along to (usually out of tune, purposely )to the tracks. He must think this is funny. Every now and then you can accept I suppose, if he must, but it seems its every other one now, I find I'm waiting for it. Is it me or is it annoying anyone else.

Well, it seems that most of you agree, and I agree with everything you say Andy, apart from Sally.... must admit, quite like her....and Tim too, they are the only ones that save it for me... I do listen to other channels , but hey ho, just sometimes someone sits in for them. ..

It's ironic that the BBC promotes 'personalities' on both TV and radio, and then employs people who simply don't have one!
So - we get Walker, Alinson, Lester, Kielty, Feltz, Anderson and Parsons who all have nothing interesting to say whatever.
We get BBC queens like Carr and Norton who are like pantomime dames with their own built-in laughter tracks.
Thank the lord the seriously weird Mo Dutta has been shipped off elsewhere, i couldn't figure out if he was on drugs, or he really thought his nonsense was in some way entertaining.
And my own personal hobby-horse - the fact that Radcliffe and Maconie were moved to accomoadte the terminally dreadful Jo Whiley who spends her time asking members of the Kaiser Cheifs the questions levelled at Georgge Clooney in Hello! magazine>
That's not just dumbing down, it's downright insulting.
BBC - get rid of her - now. There must be a student radio station somewhere in need of r a forty-plus women with children who still thinks and sounds like a student - uninformed opinions and breathless enthusiasm for everything.
Because adults listen in the evening, is it too much to hope for a presenter with a degreee of intelligence to talk to us?

Back in the day, before his move up his own fundament and Radio 2, Steve Wright was alright. I have to agree that he is not 'on the ball' and I also think that he might be holding Tim back a little in his (Tim's) radio career. When Tim fills in for the Dark Lord on the best shoe (sic) he has flashes of brilliance, on the other hand he sometimes sounds like he cannot wait to start his day/afternoon job. "The perfect face for radio" that's how he was described. discuss
