sore throat
10 Answers
I started with a sore throat last night and still had it this morning.throughout the day it has got worse and I'm finding it hard to talk.I'm spitting up green stuff from my throat not my chest.do you think I should go to get some antibiotics in the morning as they are open for 2 hours or does this kind of thing go away on its own anyway?I'm scared it will go to my chest and that I will be too ill for work on monday.I'm sucking strepsils n using an antiseptic throat spray.

sorry for the very! late reply, if you are still interested here is my update which i hope will help others. i havent been on here in ages, been really busy. so i tried to get in the local docs on the saturday but it was only for pre-booked appointments. i explained my symptoms to the receptionist and she said that it probably wasnt worthwhile getting antibiotics anyway as most throat infections are viral. we could have gone to the local walk in clinic but decided to go the pharmacy instead. i just got more throat lozenges and paracetamol. the next day i did feel a bit better but i was trying to soldier on as had birthday celebrations to attend. After this, it was a mad decline and by the Tuesday i was spitting up green stuff even more, felt lousy and decided to pursue the doc route again. i managed to get in on the thursday and was given some antibiotics which after a few days did the trick. i was so annoyed that i had listened to the receptionist as it cost me in time and money as i had to miss work. it probably took me about 2 weeks to feel back to my usual self and hence why ive been busy as ive been catching up on loads of jobs and errands. here endeth the tale ;-)
