Does Sushi neccessarily mean Fish ?

"Balls of cold boiled rice flavoured with vinegar and commonly garnished with slices of fish or boiled egg." That is how The Oxford English Dictionary defines 'sushi. The presence of the word 'or' would seem to suggest that fish is not an essential ingredient.
No.it doesnt just mean fich.it also has chicken and prawns and what-not in it.
