I am due to finish my packet of pills today before starting another tomorrow. I've just looked at the packet+i've got two pills left instead of one!! I know i def took saturdays but i cant remember if i took fridays! I had unprotected sex 3times this weekend, obviously before i realised i'd missed a pill. I've never missed one before and i took the missed one as soon as i remembered, like the packet said so should i be worried? Will this affect my cycle? Could i be pregnant? Im not stupid+this has never happened before so what do you think?

I've been going out with my b/f for three years and we dont use condoms all the time. When we do it feels really uncomfortable for me, like a burning sensation so maybe im allergic? Dont judge me!!

When i was on pill I used to forget it all the time and never became pregnant.

if you were in the middle of you cycle (usually around 15 days after 1st day of last period) when you had unproteced sex that's when you are most likely to become pregnant. if you are near beginning or end of cycle then it is less likely.  there's only one way to know for sure though; if your period is late; pee on a stick.

Good luck

I think there's a chance you could be pregnant, but it's more likely to happen if you miss a pill during the first 7 days of the packet than at the end.

Probably the best thing you can do is either not have sex or put up with condoms for 7 days and just go straight onto the next packet of pills without the normal break. Just a warning though that you might get 'breakthrough bleeding' towards the end of the pack but it should help keep you protected. If you don't get a period at the end of the next pack then do a pregnancy test.

Be careful next time!

I wouldnt take l_h_kings advice - just because it didn't happen to her doesnt mean it doesn't happen!

Take a 7day break (if you're on the 21 day pill) and then start your new packet, taking extra precautions for the next 7 days

No 5029!!!

You're supposed to carry on taking the next packet of pills without a break.

As always, you should check with your GP but that is what the packets say.

This isn't advice, but it may make you feel better - I have also missed pills many times and have never fallen pregnant - that's not something to be proud of but may reassure you a little bit.

Oh, and don't the packs have mon, tues, weds, etc on them anymore?

I have done this before. Do not worry about it. If you have more than 7 pills left in the pack, then take the pill you missed as soon as you remember and carry on as normal and use extra protection for 7 days. If there is less than 7 pills in the pack then take the pill you missed as soon as you remember, only do not have your usual 7 day break. Go straight on to your next pack of pills. Hope this helps x

Go to the Dr and get the "morning after pill"..... You can take it for up to a week after unprotected sex... You're not stupid, it happens to all of us at some stage.... But if you get it sorted out - then you'll have no dramas!!

Good luck..

You don't take the morning after pill if you taking on the contraceptive pill

I was just going to say that Casey!

The morning after pill is merely an increased dose of the contraceptive pill so would make no difference either way.

Just ensure you take the next packet without a break.

i wasnt trying to judge you i was just saying

Oi 5029! I didn't give any advise that was based on what happened to me. I was just begining my answer with a brief statement on my knowledge and personal experience on using the pill.

The advise i gave was to pee on a stick, and i also gave a very basis explaination on when in the cycle ovulation occurs.

Using the pill is not 100% safe form on contraception anyway; so the only advise anyone can give is for Snappy to take a pg test as there is a chance she is pg and it is obviously causing her concern.

If i were you Snappy, i'd carry on taking the pills without the break as already suggested - this is what you're supposed to do.  Then, in a months time, take a pregnancy test just to be on the safe side and put your mind at rest.  Personally, I wouldn't do a pg test before a full month has passed, as the result may not be accurate, although the tests that you can get these days are pretty accurate from the day that your next period is due.  Hope that this helps, and all works out well for you xx :)
