I have 2 cats, mother and her daughter, aged 8 and 6. The daughter is quite a nervous cat, but I have noticed she keeps standing with her bottom/tail against things and basically vibrating her tail fast as though she is spraying.
there is nothing static in nature and yes females do spray - what causes it is - how long is a piece of string? - something has changed within the environment - you may not be aware of it but the cat is. It is most likely nothing you can think of (new carpet, cleaning fluid, urinary tract infection, new cat in the area bulling her) honestly the list is endless -is she speyed? Get her checked out by the vet but it maybe is a stress problem.
My cat is freaked out with the new lino in the bathrooms and refuses to go in them - it s weird what upsets them. Do you have micro chip cat flap to repel invaders??
Lol, no I dont have one of those micro chip cat flaps - I may have to end up getting one. I fell asleep watching tv the other night and when I woke up there was a black and white cat curled up next to me - and it wasnt mine!
lol - my cat would go mental at that she looks cute and fluffy but rules the street and is not tolerant of any other cats - microchip catflap is brilliant :o)
Smow, you have to stop this other cat coming into the house if you want to stop the spraying, otherwise it will continue. I had the same problem and couldn't understand why my two were suddenly spraying all over the place until one day I met a cat coming up my stairs. And the cheeky thing didn't stop when it saw me. Some can be such bullies. Got a chip cat flap and it stopped immediately.
yep I agree, tbh I have ignored them until today, they even lay and sunbathe in my garden. But today I have shooed them all away, I even caught one of them half in and half out of the cat flap!
lol annie, Ive actually had to do that before with my own cat - couldnt understand why she was wedged solid till gently prized her out, did a closer inspection and discovered she was pregnant - she gave birth the next day! All her long fur had disguised it.
