Winter exercise

Hi,
I want to keep fit and healthy this winter and was wondering if anyone knew of any exercises that you can do that doesn't involve signing up for a gym? i have nothing against gyms but they get expensive. i like jogging but its a bit scary when its icey out!! any ideas for indoor or outdoor winter exercises will be greatly appreciated! thanks!

It doesn't take any more time than driving through the rush (luckily we have bike paths) and it doesn't hit my precious free-time! Perhaps if you have a long drive, find somewhere to park which is a 20-minute bike ride from work and bring a bike in the back. I find the adrenalin rush lasts me throughout the day.
Walking is the best exercise and pleasureable. If you live in a safe area then cycling is great too. Gyms are not great places. I was a member of a gym once and found there was queues for the treadmill and they stated putting time limits on them. They were stuffy looking places with people looking at each other and had a boring music channel on which talked more than played music. I packed it in and began walking instead, much more enjoyable and free
