Virgin V BT
I am with Virgin now and am thinking of going with BT mainly because of the deals they have at the moment (eg. free connection worth £130, and free anytime calls for a year to name but two) I just had a 'chat' with BT and they tell me that they just put the line in for Broadband and I will have to connect the B/B and the TV box myself. If I want them to do it it will cost £100!! My question is -how easy would this be (for a dimwit!) and does anyone regret going on to BT? TIA -rosy

But they rang about the internet last week and it was a good deal extra £16 a month to have 33speed internet and unlimited download BUT it is like freeview so no cable so could not have it here but still they said it would be £30 to instal (and they would instal it fully like you I wouldn't have a clue) and half price rental for the first 3 or 6 months so worked out you would get your money back. I would speak to them for a better deal!! ... I am with Virgin internet oh as BT Tv wouldn't work at my house is why I didn't take up the deal. But Virgin is MEGA expensive but it never crashes, alot of my friends have sky and are always saying their tv or internet is down for days. I dont mind paying more for something that works but I would obviously like to pay less but Virgin is reliable ... the dilema!
I regretting being on BT when they cut my phone off without warning because they had failed miserably to get their bill to me and couldn't be bothered with any form of reminder, and got their computer to call me unbidden by me, and had their CS folk and so called engineers to tell blatant lies about the situation and what "goodwill gesture" they were offering. If it wasn't for the convenience of the quarterly bill and no DD (normally it should be convenient) I'd not be with them. But do I really think any other is any better ?
Hi Pearlbell, being with Virgin, if you dial 150 and then go through the sequence of pressing buttons until you come to the "leaving virgin" bit, tell them you are considering BT and virgin will come up with a better offer for you to consider.
I think Virgin is great except for the price but keep ringing and they soon bring it down for you.
