colour combination??

i am moving into my house at the beginning of december and we are able to decorate before we move in. the staircase is open plan so therefore the wallpaper in the living room will have to be the same going up the stairs. we are having laminate(bad spelling sorry)flooring in the living room but it has a dark blue carpet for the stairs has anyone got any ideas what colours to go for in the living room that will go with dark blue. i do not like patterns as i like to have shelves etc. id like it to be modern but need to go easy with the pricing. thanks

A combination of warmer colours would be good to offset the coolness of the dark blue. I think maybe Burgundy or Claret accessories, and Creamy shades for the walls would work well. Maybe get yourself some swatches of material in these colours and some matchpots, and have fun finding the perfect scheme for you. Good Luck with it...............welsh

any light shades of blue will match, all wallpaper is patterned!! if not line the walls & paint them again soft blue's or any of the cream/biege family will go perfectly (get test pots)
