I had a new internal pine kitchen door, and did not know you were supposed to seal it before painting. It had a coat of primer and two coats of paint, but now unsightly brown splodges are seeping through. Can I sand it down, apply the sealant I should have used in the first place then repaint? Any constructive suggestions welcomed.

the best solution to this problem is to give the door a light sand then apply a coat of "Zinsser BIN" , once that's dry apply your top coat......that should do the trick......

They're knots, Calda :o(
When it was bare timber, "knotting solution" should have been painted over the knots.

Do as Marden says. Zinsser is the best :o)
