I have a Dell Laptop which I am thinking of replacing and would wish to make it available for use by a family member ( one yet to be decided). However, I would wish to clear out all personal items, such as E/.mails, Pictures, Documents, etc and am wondering if perhaps I should endeavour to return the machine to original factory settings and then re-load all that I consider is appropriate. My fear is that I will mess-up things and loose Windows Vista Home Premium in the process; along with Internet Explorer.

What advice have ABers for me on the matter.?

sorry ron, I took you literally, I thought you meant what I have to do - shake the crumbs out of it at regular intervals..... :-(

Hi again Chuck......Your advice has worked a treat and, as proof, I am posting via a queaky clean laptop.

Boxtops..I never get crumbs in my laptop or desktop. More likely to be cigarette ash; or possible red wine.

Cheers folk....Ron.
