Scotch of the day

Dunno if this is a national offer, or just my local Co-Op going slightly bonkers ...

... but I just picked up a bottle of Aberlour 10yo Malt Scotch for £18.90 - seriously good bargain :+)

Not a huge fan of Aberlour, do need to restock the Highland Park though...it's had a bit of a caning of late!

I usually prefer island malts myself, but a softer Highland version like Aberlour is nice for a change - very good with cheese and olives and nibbles.

For inland scotches, I love Tomatin; it's the caramel overtones that I like.

Highland Park is good - have you tried Scapa Flow, eccles?

Don't mind a Speyside like Aberlour on occasion, but Laphroaig Quarter Cask is hard to beat. Highland Park is great too, as are Talisker and Ledaig...

This is definitely the time of year for Islay, all smoky with the occasional sulphury note, just like bonfire night!

Quarter Cask is brilliant - but I tend towards the various Bowmores for Islay - Bowmore Darkest 15yo is my current bottle

Although a young whisky have any of your tried the English whisky from Norfolk?

Hubby says it is very good as is the Welsh whisky and if any of you are near the distilery in Wales I suggest the port wood one mmmmm
