to decorate a Christmas tree or even do something with the pile of cards we've received. Is this the beginning of a crabby old age?

Morning Sloopy xx

It's piddling here, got to put the bin out and go to get Mr A's medication
(from the chemist not the offy!)

I'll be back later to sit beside Tilly's satsumas :-)
it surely is tony, and background pressure tbh, but there's only waiting now.

Otherwise, I count myself a lucky woman all things considered and looking at what others here cope with daily

Tilly, I never start the festive readiness mularky till a couple of days beforehand
I have a 3ft high plastic Christmas tree with light and baubles which I bring out of the loft every year. This year I bought a string of 80 tiny flickering lights for £8.78 from Amazon. I have put up about 100 Christmas cards on wooden cupboards using Blu-Tak.
This pleases my wife. If it were not for her I would not bother. She always sends out a lot of Christmas cards. (In my dotage I see no point of sending Christmas cards and I loathe the boring newsletters which some folk enclose with theirs.) I admit, though, that Christmas is great for kids but mine are now grown up.It's good for working people as they get a well-deserved break.
When we were kids we had a summer lounge, and a winter lounge, and my ideal would be to have a christmas lounge where all the decs stays up and the tree is already decorated and we unlock the door 2 weeks before xmas, then close it again after the 3 kings have been!
It's at least 30º here in the sun, hate it!
I like that idea, neti! (Are you still in Ibiza or somewhere else? 30 degs sounds hot for the Balearics!)

Right, done it. Tree's decorated, window sill and fireplace decorated. Wreath made and up on door, cards out of the way, shopping finished. Time to relax.

Good for you tilly. Time to put feet up and enjoy your rest x
Tilly, it's generous of you to say what you did on aya's thread. Glad you have sparkled yourself up!
I'm on my own for Christmas and really can't be arsed with the hassle of putting a tree up. I have put the Christmas cards up though.
