Went to a new salon today for removal of Shellac and new application of Shellac. The girl I normally go to, at a different salon, removes the Shellac with strong acetone on cotton wool, and foil wraps, then gently with a cuticle stick she gets off the remaining Shellac. This girl today immediately started filing off all the Shellac with an electric drill type of thing before reapplying. Now my nails feel really soft. Has she ruined my nails?
I dont like it when they do that either. Same thing happened last wk with m shellac he rubbed at my old nail varnish with a file to get it off. Felt wrong. Sorry not much help but will see how my nails are when u get it taken off on fri x
I was a bit taken aback when she started with the electric file, didn't think to say I wanted them soaked off with acetone. Oh well I wont go back there again. I am getting some CND Solar Oil as this is supposed to help strengthen them. Fingers crossed (scuse the pun...)
I had mine done like that the first time I had false nails put on. it was a place run by Chinese women and one man. Since then my nails are terrible. so soft and thin. I just cannot grow them anymore. And this was years ago.
lilac it sounds like the place I went to. Place stunk of chemicals when I walked in, all wearing masks, it was awful. I hope my nails grow out OK, I'm getting all the Shellac taken off in a couple of weeks and will just let them be natural, and put lots of nail conditioner on them.
