Hi Everyone
Just purchased the above television. The picture quality is second to non but the SOUND is shocking, it sounds like a transister radio that you can purchase for a pound. We bought this TV from John Lewis so i know that they would exchange it. Has anyone bought this TV, could you give me your opinion on the sound quality as i dont know if my TV has a sound fault. It is impossible to listen to it without surround sound. Please advise.

I am a big Panasonic fan and buy everything of their manufacture, it is unusual that it has passed their factory tests with a fault. Could you be very sensitive to sound? You can of course add extra surround speakers.
Khandro, all i want is a decent sound from this lovely TV, i use surround sound on an evening but through the day i dont want nor should i have to listen to it through a speaker system. Honestly, the sound is shocking, i have emailed John Lewis and im waiting for a reply. Im going on holiday next wednesday so this problem needs to be sorted. Thanks everyone for listening
Baldric, on surround, it gives you 3 options to choose from
1, Off
2. V-Audio
3. V Audio surround
Iv tried it on them all and to be honest, there is no difference between any of them. My dilema is that i love the picture quality so i could just ignore it and use the surround sound system but then what if there is a fault with the TV, i would never know. I could return it and get a replacement but it could be exactly the same, i dont think John Lewis would take a second TV back. It may be that Panasonic has good picture quality but crap sound. Oh how i wish someone on this site has the exact TV

Rosie I have a Panasonic TX-L32D26B which I know isn't the same as yours, but I have to say I have never had a problem with the sound.
The only other thing is, are you running it on it's own or is it connected to a DVD, Humax etc?
I think you have done the right thing in contacting John Lewis just in case there is a fault and I hope you manage to get it sorted.

To be honest, i dont even think he would be able to alter this crap sound. Im not going to do anything else, im leaving the surround sound on and await John Lewis response. One good thing though, i managed to turn the auto standby off. It was set for 4 hours, silly time really in my opinion. Anyway, i may get some more suggestions later when people come home from work, you never know, i may get a Panasonic expert!!!!!!.
