Used a mens room in a restaurant today washed by hands before leaving. I followed a guy out who had not bothered to wash his hands and had to touch the 'contaminated' outer door handle. Should such establishments provide sanitizer gel as they do in hospitals?
Think sensible precautions are in order rather than taking a sledgehammer to crack a nut. There are 60 volunteers in my organisation and we all regularly wipe telephone receivers, handles etc. with antibac wipes.
I carry sanitiser in my handbag. If I have to use a public loo I always use the gel after I have flushed and after I have exited the building. It won't really help that there will be all sorts of bugs on every surface I touch when out and about though.
Sqad you make a good point about immune system etc. but my concern is less about bugs and viruses than it is about the less savoury deposits on some folks hands after they've used the loo.
Where would you put the sanitizer?
As if people dont choose to use it, it makes no difference. Unless it was outside the toilet door on a wall somewhere?
That reminds me of when a customer at work has just come out of the loo or has been sitting there picking their nose and then they ask if they can borrow my pen! Sure you can - just don`t bother giving it back.
Are you saying you can build up an immunity to an STI?
How, by repeatedly catching them when you are younger to build your immunity up for later life??
You know this business of boys and men not washing their hands after peeing has got me so worried that I am thinking of barricading myself in the house, and sitting in a bath filled with 50/50 water and Dettol !
Agree with you about the mints though....and peanuts in cocktail bars.
I have just thought...perhaps we should call them PEENUTS instead !
