I was wondering if there is a virus going around both my parents are ill in bed with flu like symptoms. But it cant be flu because they have both had jabs. I am now feeling awful aching joints very light headed and dizzy sore eyes feel like im about to faint all the time its not blood sugar that is 7 two hours after lunch. I have a flu jab every year as well. I was wondering if there is some virus going around at the moment.

Yes, it's a virus which doesn't knock you for 6 but like all viruses tries to battle on contaminating as many hostages as they can... this year they've hit lucky! It's quite contagious.

yes, there is a nasty chesty fluey virus going round. Having the flu jab doesn't mean you don't get it, it means that if you should get it, you shouldn't suffer quote as badly as people who haven't had it - the flu vaccine is given anticipating which strain is likely to be going round this year, but sometimes another strain sneaks in.

By the way, you say it can't be flu as they've had jabs. It can be flu as they're only vaccinated against what the NHS presumed would be the flu virus this winter! and this goes off what the southern hemisphere has had in their winter. This seems like a new virus...
