One of the links had a video showing the plantar muscle stretching technique. Tried this, evenings and mornings as suggested, and there is certailny an improvement and no pain when first putting the foot to the floor when getting out of bed. Also taking Arnica tablets to help reduce the inflamation, also Iboprufen gel massaged into the sole of the foot, both of which seem to be having some beneficial effect, so keeping fingers crossed.
