"Our" woodpecker is back!!! (Great spotted)

I was watching one this very morning, feeding on the nut feeder in my garden.
Yesterday I heard much drumming coming from the woods near-by

This one, or perhaps it's descendants, comes back every year, but this year it's particularly early. I've also seen geese flying over. I posted some photos of geese on AB last year so hopefully they'll come back too.

With any luck, you may see a parent woodpecker return with some young ones, showing them how to find food, later in the year.

What kind of geese where they ?

They were Canada geese with 6 or 7 chicks. We watched them grow. If you look back through my old posts you'll see I posted some photos. I'm sorry I can't post the link to the photo cos I haven't worked out how to copy and paste on my iPad.
