The government takes off 1p, the breweries put on 7p a pint so my local now charges 10p a pint more than before. Glad I didn't study economics.
The price at my local, recently increased by 10p a pint.
My landlord kept the price the same after the 1p reduction, as when he increases the price, it's always in increments of 5p, so as not to bother messing around with coppers in the till.
To be honest this 1p reduction makes jack squat difference - the money would have been better spent elsewhere.
Mine went up 10p as well.
I suppose they're so used to using the budget to cover their own greed they were a bit flummoxed. Pubs around here are all shut or empty now, anyway.
bit of a back handed present from the treasury. If the 1p isnt taken off a pint most people wont even notice/care.
