I find it much easier to swallow tablets with something solid rather than liquid.
Take a bite of bread or biscuit or whatever, chew it until you're just about to swallow then pop the pill into your mouth. It will get lost in the chewed up stuff and go down without you noticing anything.
Worth asking the pharmacist if there is a liquid formulation for your medication then speaking to your GP.
The pharmacist can only dispense what is written on the prescription so you might also try your GP for smaller sized tablets.
As she/he presumably wants you to have these tablets, your GP should be sympathetic .
