5 Year Guarantee
I bought a cooker from Ikea 4 years ago with a 5 yr guarantee. 2 years in I had to have the cooker element replaced. Another year and a half has passed and the same element went again plus the bottom element. The engineer came out quickly and ordered me the 2 elements there and then. He even ordered me a door seal and door hinge. I was booked in to have the work done a week later. Three and a half month and many phone calls later after being fobbed off that they were waiting for 1 part I have now been told from the company who supply the parts that they cannot get the part and have passed this on to Whirlpool. Whirlpool have now rung me to say they cannot get the part nor can they replace my cooker. They have emailed Ikea and basically the ball is in Ikeas hands now. This was Wednesday just gone and I have still heard nothing from Ikea. I just need to know my rights and whether its Whirlpool or Ikea who should be replacing my cooker. Just to clarify, the cooker is Whirlpool and bought from Ikea. Many thanks

Your remedy is quite straightforward but you must take all factors into account including the price paid.
Thanks. Ikea have been very helpful but sadly they no longer do range cookers. I now have to purchase a cooker from elsewhere and they will then refund me the amount I paid for the original cooker and install the new one for free. The down side is all the cookers are now around £300 more expensive :(
