My backs's gone again. phoned the doc to ask advice whether to go and see a Chiropractor or Osteopath and was told that neither was any good for my condition.
He said he can prescribe me some painkillers but I said I've still got some left over from last time.
He then said he can refer me to the Physio at the local hospital but it'll take up to six weeks, I told him last time that happened by the time I got to see the Physio my back was okay and all they did was book me into a Pilates class.
Pretty pissed off now as every time my back goes it lasts about a week and nothing seems to get done about it
Hi anne, sleeping's fine apart from the heat, the first ten minutes when I get up is ok then my back will start to ache and gradually lean over to one side, strange thing is one day it'll lean to the right and another day it'll lean to the left.
Bad fall in January 1980. GP said I'd slipped a disc. For years suffered with periodic back pain, taking time off work, unable to drive. GPs solution was to provide painkillers, tell me I should live with it and give thought as to how I would cope in later life. Saw a programme on acupuncture in mid 1990s. Signed up for a course and it worked. Have had the odd bit of pain since then but I can usually ascribe it to something.
Elvis, you should consider pilates. it builds the core muscles that support everything else. obviously you have more immediate problems but pilates might help avoid the pain recurring.
