I would like to buy something from Amazon, sold in a 250 ml pot, but when looking at the price, it shows, £10.23 (£4.09 / 100 ml). If I'm buying the 250 ml, why the need to show an alternate price and size in brackets?...or parentheses? Ta Muchly.
It's not an alternate price, it's the same expressed as a 100-unit price for that item. Useful when comparing prices with other products expressed in a similar way although sold in varying sizes.
woodelf -its the same principle as in supermarkets where they give the full price then underneath the price per 100 grams. its so you can easily compare the prices if the same type of product is sold in different quantities.
Many Thanks Canary and Kristal for your clear answers - and as for thee Mrs O, I hope tha's well and keeping in fine fettle and all's reet wi thi part of the world!
