The chips were just simply the best i've ever tasted. I know they ain't good for you but if you only have them once or twice a month, surely that can't be that bad !!!
No more oven chips for me....ever
Aaaarrrgghh! Few things wind me up more than oven chips (although pre-grated Danish mozzarella comes a close second).
Preheat oven to 200-210C. Cut pototoes into wedges. Toss with olive oil, salt, pepper and whatever other herbs and spices you want. If you're in a hurry, give your wedges a head start with a minute in the microwave. Put on baking paper, turn once or twice during cooking. Depending on your oven, the type of potato and wedge thickness they should be done in about 20 mins.
This is as fast as the frozen nonsense; the chances are your olive oil is better quality than the factory rubbish; and depending where you buy your pototoes you are supporting a local farmer rather than some multinational behemoth intent on global domination.
What - you didn't know it was National Chip Week last week?????
