... after a week of exile in the 1970s (aka The Isle of Bute).

What a dump Rothesay is - every shop/cafe/pub was either closed/condemned or teetering on the brink of commercial suicide.

The countryside was OK ... but it did rain quite a lot ... every day ... I read several books ... very fat ones ... thoroughly.

The shopping highlight was "The Co-Op that used to be Somerfield" - it even had (whisper it quietly ... FRUIT).

I did however manage to take a series of photographs inside the Gents on Rothesay Pier ... my case comes up next week.

Dave xx

PS - Anyone fancy a pint?

And I read CMJ's autobiography - a splendid book by a much-missed man.
