Can anyone recommend a good foundation/tinted moisturiser/powder?? I have always used Boots tinted moisturiser followed by pressed powder but lately I sometimes look pale, sometimes look orange, or patchy, or greasy. I just want a good base for every day wear that looks natural and I don't mind paying for it!

I use max factor lasting finish, which is good, but it would probably be a bit heavy for you if you normally use tinted moisturiser.

What about using a fake tan, just a mild one, you can get moisturisers with fake tan in it, that build up very slowly, does wonders for skin tone, and looks better first thing in the morning with no make up on at all.

To Englishbird can you tell me if MaxFactor do the moisturiser with fake tan in it or can you suggest the best one thanks

I like Nivea's tinted moisturiser as I find it has a bit more depth to it than boots.

For foundation, I've found that Boots 17 True Match range is great - really nice coverage, without being too heavy so its excellent for everyday way - and no faffing around matching colours as it adapts to the skintone - available in light(mine), medium or dark - 4.99 per tube & it seems to last a while.

A xXx

ps I know Johnsons do a moisturiser with fake tan in called Holiday Skin - one for body & one for face - it comes in fair to medium or medium to dark.

its on special offer in asda at the moment fo 7 for both but its normally about 5 each

I use Max Factor Lasting Finish too, their Porcelain is great for my ultra-pale skin. I find any foundation is too heavy for me, so I mix it with an equal amount of moisturiser (Simple Light Daily in my case) and then apply it. Evens out my colour but looks very natural.

I swear by Clarins tinted moisturiser and foundation. I used to use the cheaper brands, eg Max Factor foundation and Boots no 7 tinted moisturiser and thought they were good, but after spending a little extra I would never go back to them!

The extra money is well worth it!

Thanks from me as well .going shopping tomorrow

I hope you get this answer!

I know it's not a tinted moisuturiser as such but I use Tesco's foundation and believe me it's the best stuff I've ever tried and I have tried loads!

It's quite cheap (like 6)and can be found in many of the Tesco extra stores. Believe me, as a concealer and a foundation, it's the best! Hope this helps!

Just realised I didn't tell you the make of it. It's Tesco's own brand made by a person called Barbara Daley. Its in a black box. Again. hope this helps!

I actually use a fake tan called lancaster. I've only ever bought it at gatwick, but am sure you can get it in towns. I'm rather pale, and I find lancaster not too dark, just takes the edge off looking blue!! ;o)
I have gone for the asda one to try first look back here in a week and I will let you know how it is progressing thanks
Nivea tinted moisturiser is great I agree.Every time I wear it people comment on my skin.It is not orange at all and I think it comes in two shades.Try it and you won't be disappointed.
Been using for more than a week now been quite sparing with it and yes I got a nice comment so I shall keep on using it for slow build up. thanks
