Just had a phone call from a gentleman enquiring about my computer . I said how did you know I had one ..he put the phone down rather sharply ...how rude ..just when I was gonna give him my bank details as soon as I got on the premium rate call Some you just can't please

They don't know. You say Yes and that's how it starts.

Happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Guy claimed to be from Microsoft/Windows (Can't remember which) and said there was a problem with the Computer. I said "Haven't got one." He then said "Laptop?" I then said "Haven't got one of those either." He hung up PDQ after that...

No Computer company will EVER contact you by phone and tell you there's a problem with your PC.

Whwn I get these, and I get them about once a week, I ask guilelessly "Which computer are you talking about ?" And them he asks me how many I have. So I reply saying, "well, if you know so much about my computer usage, you must already know how many I have and which one you mean."
Alternatively, I tell him I'm using a Mac, and his interest vanishes.
