I've subscribed to this thread. My nephew has started using a new cream and he says its brilliant. I can't recall the name so will message him and get back to you with the name.

Thank you ummm would be interested to know
Hi Adi
Sorry I can't help with your query but the psoriasis ointment (Dovobet) I have used for ages has also been withdrawn. The new one I have been prescribed (Dovobet gel) doesn't control my condition as well although it's not as greasy.
I'll be interested to see what Ummmm's nephew recommends.
Best wishes
Maz
Sorry I can't help but I just wondered why alphosyl is no longer available?
I have bought two lots of the shampoo on line as I could not get it in the shops
I've been taking a 1000mg(NOT less) of Evening primrose Oil. I started a few years ago and took a capsule every day. The symptoms totally disappeared and I , foolishly, stopped taking the EPO. Silly me. The symptoms returned so I had to start again. The symptoms went away again and I eventually and gradually got the daily intake down to one capsule twice a week. That's all I now need to keep the symptoms at bay. I KNOW if I stop taking the EPO it will all flare up again. As I say, it's now been quite a few years and, touch wood, all is ok now. I wish you good luck with yours adik. xx
thanks for that janb. will give it a go. i get flareups on my head. annoying to say the least. will give epo a go.
I've sent him a message so will post as soon as he answers.

I used to have it really badly for years so I know how horrible it is. No creams worked for me but mine did clear up on its own.
I can't recommend an alternative to Alphosyl HC as I find no treatments work for me but have found this somewhat out of date information regarding the shampoo. https://www.psoriasis-association.org.uk/news-and-views/view/alphosyl-hc-cream-discontinued

A geothermal power station was built in Iceland something like three decades ago. The run-off water formed first a pond and then a small lake. Workers, friends and relations took to swimming in its waters and one of them noticed relief from his psoriasis as a result. The place is now a very popular spa called the Blue Lagoon. The sediments are used for various health products, particularly for the skin. I don't know more about these products but you should be able to find details online.
My vet recommended EPO for my dog to keep his allergic ear inflammation under control and, along with avoiding certain foods, it works really well. He has 2000mg every day.
