I have to admit, given all the rantings of the left to Bankers, their Bank does not seem to be doing too well at all.

Perhaps there is a God?

///As I said jim, I clearly mis interpreted what you said and I do apologize for that.

I do like differing opinions, it would be a sad place if we all agreed on everything so please do keep posting on my questions.///

I dont mind admitting when I am wrong. Better than trying to defend the indefensible and I like to think I have more integrity that that.

You really are good at ascribing attributes to others with no evidence that they do indeed possess them, then taking a pop at them for it.
Attempt to belittle those you disagree with? Thats your complaint? When your OP starts with the phrase "the rantings of the left"? You do not see the irony in that at all?

I have rarely seen an objective post from you, YMB - it is always coloured by some kind of insult to "the left".

As for your OP - you are thanking god for yet another bank in crisis? What a strange and partisan world you live in.

You do have a short memory. It was the banks - not the co-operative movement - that brought the globe to its knees and precipitated a global economic recession that we are only now - 6 years later - starting to see an end to. And it was the Co-op adopting free market and corporatist principles that got them into this mess in the first place.

Trying to portray this as a failure of the left when the free market principles all but beggared us in the first place is facile.

While it's a party of the left, the Labour Party does not "represent" the left anymore than the co-op bank does. All the Labour party represents is the labour party. So please don't use the co-op's links to Labour to suggest that the bank is somehow the epitome of left-wing banks that all left-wingers in the country love and adore. It's a bit ridiculous.

Thank you - I had no idea about the Co-op's donations to Labour.
Is that the bank 70% owned by those lefty US hedge funds Aurelius Capital Management, Beach Point Capital Management, and Silver Point Capital?
