Bedding Plants

Do you think it's still a bit too early to put bedding plants in? I'm a bit wary of a frost.

much too early,up here anyhow, I don't do anything till end of May, ne'er cast a cloot till May is oot !

we have night frosts forecast here for the next few nights. I would wait on.

Yes, I'm on the south coast and frost is forecast over the weekend. And it's going to stay colder for a while so I heard so I did:-)

How do Sweet Peas hold up with frost, will they die?

There is a hardy variety of seet pea - we got a plant a few years ago and it's come up every year since. Most varieties will not like frost.

they say rich soil but they are a plant you often see growing on old walls

I've no idea what sweet peas these are but I've just planted them in the hopes that they will grow up my cane wigwam thing. If I think there's going to be a frost I'll bring them in overnight.

Sweet peas will be fine. More tender things like petunias won't.

Unless you have the facility to harden them off by putting them somewhere frost free over night, like a cold frame or conservatory, it may be wise to hang fire til the weather reports sound more milder and favorable.
