A girl I work with is 7 weeks pregnant and is unsure what to do. I told her to make up her mind as the earlier she decides if she wants to terminate the easier it is (I presume)... but she has told me that after 6 weeks it's not a case of taking a couple of pills and having a 'heavy period', and it involves an invasive operation... Is this right? When I've googled it all I get is pro-life and nothing constructive to support the woman if she's not in a position to keep the child (which surely would be better all round in the long run)... toughie I know, but any advice I could pass on would be gratefully recieved (and I know I've spelt recieved wrong for all you wordies out there!).. Cheers

You did not advise clanad you judged.
My interpretation of the OP is that HippyHoppy is looking for the facts of UK abortion procedures to advise her friend.

You've said your piece Clanad.
in the post it does say ''if she's not in a position to keep the child ''
What's the problem with that AA?
HH is referring there to what she found or failed to find by Googling, t is not a reference to the young woman herself.
This girl does not need "advice", what she needs is someone to talk to, to weigh up the pros and cons then to make an informed decision for herself.
I find it reassuring that the only adverse comments on this thread come from the male of the species. What do they really know about it. Would they think different if they were the pregnant ones. IMO probably.
I'm just pleased the comments were removed so quickly.Good modding.
Leaving comments is sometimes just as useful......
She should speak to her doctor - urgently. I wish her well.

My attitude to abortion - it's not my business. It's not the business of religion. It's not the business of the law. It's not the business of the government. It's not even the business of the father of the embryo. It's her business, and hers alone. With sympathy and support and kindness from all around, but we must all stop right there.
I suspect I'd would be agreeing with clanad though it's difficult to say as those comments have been censored
Mistakes happen. No one has the right to stand in judgement.
Only the girl in question knows what's best for her...difficult decision to make, but it's hers and hers alone..she must feel wretched...I feel for her....
