^ That's exactly what the NSPCC says, but since this happened in Portugal I presume UK law is irrelevant anyway.

I know I am in the minority but I believe Maddie is alive . I think she was targeted during the days before and it was a deliberate child snatching . There have been cases where children have been found many years afterwards.
I feel for the Mccanns. Hope is all they have left to cling to. It must be absolute torture getting through each day.
