I'm 4 days into a 14 days course of Clarithromycin (500) and Metronidazole (400), also taking Omeprazole (20), I was a bit in the night and have woken up to big red blotches over my thighs and back, it looks like sunburn but it's not itching at the moment. It looks like how I reacted to penicillin a few years ago but without the burning.

Do you think I've developed an allergy to one of the above or just a mild reaction, the docs are not open today and I don't know whether to take the next lot of tablets.

Sqad, this is the third time I've had this combo within a year, the out of hours doc wasn't too impressed with that, he questioned my docs approach to the treatment I've received for this bloody H. Pylori. After my holidays I'll go back to the surgery but opt for a different GP.

Noooooo way I'm allergic to chocolate! Oh God, I had Doritos last night, I hope it's not them.

Oops, meant to add

Thank you :)
Well, I disagree with the hospital Dr.........your treatment for H.pylori is correct.

I am concerned as I found NICE guidelines on the treatment and it said Clarythromycin shouldn't be used more than once for H.Pylori as it can induce resistance, I'm on my third lot since last November and am worried that the resistance is increasing.

Conflicting advice from two different GPs is really not comforting. :(
