Why do people hate emos?

I dont get why people have to label other people, I know why some people dislike chavs (because some are violent and they are known to get pregant at an early age) but whats wrong with emos! :O I would be interested to find out.

Ooops, let's try again: 'emo' is short for 'emotional hardcore' and originally referred to a style of music, characterised by the likes of My Chemical Romance and Dashboard Confessional, which is very angsty, overwrought, dramatic punk-rock. However, it came to refer to the followers of the music, who frequently dress in black, with slicked fringes, lip rings, studded belts, etc. The term became slightly derogatory because people began to accuse emo fans of taking the music too seriously and melodramatically, and getting very suicidal and depressed.

'Chavs' refers to groups of, for the most part, uneducated, uncultured youths who dress in tracksuits or fake designer labels, with lots of 'bling' jewellery, and hang around shopping malls, fast-food places, etc, for want of anything better to do. They are often perceived as being very antisocial and threatening.
