There are very few defences to excess alcohol charges which result in success and it did not seem Miss Knox was able to take advantage of any. Of course had she pleaded guilty last April not only would she have saved herself a shed load of money (Mr Freeman does not come cheap, even if his services are restricted to "I advise you to plead guilty") but her 12 month ban, with a three month reduction had she completed the "Drink Drivers' Rehabilitation course", would have been all but done and dusted by now.
