Please can anyone help, this seems a complicated problem to me so apologies in advance for the long post. I have a Dell laptop running W7 with Microsoft office 2010 installed. I use MS Outlook 2010 as my main email client(?). For the purpose of the query assume my real name is Prudie Jones and my email address is prudie@blahblah.
If I send an email from my laptop to anywhere else it appears on arrival in the inbox as Prudie Jones
I also have a hotmail account which does the same thing, arrives as Prudie Jones . In other words it shows my real name
My laptop's name is Prudie NOT Prudie Jones
Where have I put my full name of Prudie Jones so that this appears on sent items and where more importantly can I change it. My thoughts are that it's in my PC rather than in Outlook because hotmail does it as well.
Any help?

hmm some bits that I put in less than and more than brackets have not shown up in my post (must be something to do with HTML). Anyway the emails arrive as Prudie Jone(prudie@blahblah) if that makes sense
In Outlook 2010:

Tochange the details on your Hotmail account, log into it via the website. Look for an 'Accounts' link and then an 'Edit' option.

(I'm hoping that works. I wouldn't touch Hotmail/Outlook.com with a bargepole and they have a nasty habit of changing things - always making them harder to use! - anyway)
Don't they all do that, your name (which you must have input at one time, followed by your email address in brackets)?

Well that was easy. Thanks. Will try the hotmail one now.
jackdaw yes they do, I have changed my name on marriage recently and needed this reflected..

Thanks again, the hotmail one has changed successfully too.
