As A Tribute...

...to my 95yr old mother who died on Saturday, I decided to cook my pancakes last night in lard... They were delicious. She was from that age group that rendered everything down to a mush and olive oil was something you put in your ears:)

Sorry to hear about your Mum Melv - it's only 9 months since I lost my dear Mum too - I've been clearing her house and we have just sold it, it will be our last link with her, shall miss going in there most days. I also thought of my Mum when cooking pancakes last night - I always cook them in lard and have them made wafer thin with lemon juice and castor sugar on just as Mum taught me!
