I used to work as a band 6 specialist continence nurse dealing mainly with patients who have had prostate problems. A highly stressful unevenful job I detested but only stayed because of the relatively good pay. A friend who works in a residual unit catering for people with learning disabitities new of my predicament and suggested working with learning disabled people as she found it really rewarding. Having soon found part time work in a small unit I soon realized the benefits of giving something back to the community. It also gave me a great sence of well being helping the less fortunate. I would much rather work in a low paid job what I enjoy then something I don't. Money is not everything.
