I'v got a waterproof MP3 player which I use when swimming. Last night I connected it to my laptop, wiped all the music from it and loaded it with several episodes of a comedy programme. It worked beautifully and I listened and laughed as I swam today! The battery went flat as I finished my swim so I plugged it in when I came home and my computer now says it doesn't recognise the device!! Any ideas pse ??

Sounds like it has developed a fault. I'd suspect pure coincidence re what you have recently used it for. Unless it developed a leak and filled with water.

It's still working fine - just tested it.
Ok, could still be a communications fault between it and the PC though. When I've plugged USB (which I assume this is) items into my PC and the PC didn't recognise them, that was fairly terminal. Although they tended to be flash drives. Is it player recognised when connected to a different PC ?
Ok I should have re-read or recalled the title :-O
