Does anyone do any video editing? I have been using Ulead VideoStudio 8 which was OK at the beginning, now when I play back the video after it has been transferred onto DVD the speech does not match with the mouth movement, the picture also breaks up and stops and starts. Has anyone else had these problems? I have also tried Roxio Easy Media Creator 8 which has the same speech problems. Is anyone using any other software that really works?

I have been using MAGIX movies on CD & DVD 4.0 and get exactly the same - speech not matching the mouth movement. Otherwise its a smashing product - text overlays and lots of different wipes between scenes.

This used to be a problem with quite a few video editing programs. Make sure that

a) You defragment your hard drive before editing/rendering and always restart your machine beforeediting (see f) below)

b) If possible, use a second hard drive just for the video files (nad set it within the video program along with the temporary storage locations)

c) You really need a fast processor and a much Ram as you can afford.

d) Make sure that you have the latest audio and video drivers.

e) Check their website for updates/patches - especially if there are any referring to synchronisation problems.

f) Lastly, shutdown any programs running in the background (even ant-virus etc - but restart your machine before going back on the Web)

Best of Luck!!

If you are considering other programs look for Adobe Premiere Elements (NB version 2 only works with the latest processors, Pentium 4 and AMD 64-bit (?)). There is an new version of Serif's MoviePlus coming out soon (version 5) - I use version 4 and it is very good. One or two computer magazines seem to like Sony Vegas Movie Studio - there is a supplier here:-
