incursion of 2000 monday.
incursion of 1000 and one death last night.
tonight?
tomorrow night?
next week?
on the basis that water can't be shovelled with a pitchfork, what's the betting that Cameron's "government will do everything it can to combat the crisis" pledge will mean dismantling the border? it will after all make all the current issues go away overnight.

If they’re asylum seekers, they have no good reason to come – they are already in a safe country so we should make it known that no claim for asylum from anyone coming from another European country will be considered and will result in immediate deportation. No ifs, buts, or appeals. If they have the impression that the UK will provide for all their needs, and a lot of them do, then the benefits system has to be amended – now. No benefits for anyone who hasn’t worked and paid tax here for at least five years. We need to remove the reason for them wanting to come here.

Got it. We couid solve two problems with a little duplicity.
Say our ahem security services were to take the returning jihadi isis representatives under their wing. Facilitate and finance them to blow up the tunnel, railway lines, on our side of the wonderful continental route. Promise them safety and duly arrest them. Keep them in prison for a few years and ensure that they endure a minimum of 73 hrs in solitary confinement, appoint the usual human rights lawyers. Pay millions in compensation to them with free passage to Libya where the government uses them as security agents to prevent the trafficking now taking place. Problems solved and a damn sight cheaper that what is coming if we do nothing.
