anti histamine tablets like Benadryl may help and wear loose fitting clothing that allows your skin to breathe. And try not to scratch!

ooops, it sounds like prickly heat, it is an annoying thing - have you been using some sort of sun tan or cream on your arms, that seems to trigger mine off because the pores are blocked.

I get terrible prickly heat too, with or without sun tan lotions, and once I've got it, that's me for the rest of the holiday, it just won't calm down till I'm out of the sun. It's sooo itchy and my skin looks all red blotchy and bumpy, not nice at all. But, the only thing I've found that works is a sun screen called P20, it's not a cream, it's a watery liquid, you put it on in the morning before you dress and it lasts all day. It's a bit more expensive than the usual sun lotions (Superdrug sell it), but hey, if I'm able to get out, without itching and looking like a big red blotchy thing, who cares?! It also lets you tan through it. Hope you can find some relief!
