Digital switchover + VCR's

My parents have recently been switched over. Their VCR will play old + pre-recorded tapes, but nothing records or displays through the TV when it's set through the same channel they'd view a video on....

TV signal

Just recently the signal keeps going on my TV and it happens on more than 1 channel. Anyone else had this problem? I live in Granada-land in Manchester so wondered if it's the transmitter.

CSA Deduction from earnings

If the CSA leave a set amount each week they say you can live on after deducting their takings, would this remain the same if i got a better paid job, if so then it's not worth applying for a better...
